David was recognised as the person who's interest, knowledge and love of Malt Whisky lead to the creation of Malt Whisky Clubs around South Australia.
His Earl of Zetland Hotel provided enthusiasts access to an extensive range of malts 'by the nip', and enthusiastically promoted them throughout Australia.
He attended one of our early tastings in Burra, was a fine man and our friend, and there are many people who will appropriately be saying 'Slainte' in his honour in the weeks ahead.
